So gorgeous Harriet, I felt as though I was right there with you. I wish more people would greet each other when they enter a shop. It’s not hard, and offers the shopkeeper warmth and respect. When I worked at the bookstore, some people were shocked if I so much as asked them if I could help them find a book, or they’d bark their coffee order at me without so much as a good morning. It makes me sad, to see so many sad, harassed people in the world, so caught up in their tiny worlds. Anyway, rant over! 😂 I do love the social norms of France!
